Alderney - part of the Channel Islands (Isles Anglo Normande) is the only 'Channel Island' which is actually in the Channel. A wholly beautifaul place

Can't resist a good light house picture.
This is from a flying day trip in May 2004 - lovely weather but a bit hazy on the way across |

Sea views everywhere
Alderney is a quite magical place if you like this sort of thing. Yes its remote and a bit quiet but the colours when the sun shines are enough to make one think one can paint |

then there was this Bakerloo line train
There is a small railway on Alderney - built I think to service the quarry- possibly by hte occupying Germans in WWII. There was a concentration camp on the island. These days enthusiasts keep it going with rolling stock from London underground. |

Fares please
You won't get this view out of any other London underground train window |

Another lighthouse - no actually the same one
